Brandon Sousa – Owner/Head Coach

Brandon has been a passionate athlete for the majority of his life, in either sports or weight training settings. With his athletic experience growing above twenty-five years, Brandon has built discipline and commitment that has taken him to an elite level. He started his youth career playing A, AA, AAA level Hockey in the Greater Toronto Hockey League, eventually moving into the North York Hockey League playing U21. His life of sports did not end there, as Brandon played Soccer, Rugby, and Volleyball at a competitive level.

At the age of sixteen, Brandon suffered a torn ACL, regretfully putting him out of sports. Three years later he found himself in a CrossFit class and there began his newfound fitness journey. Brandon competed in countless CrossFit competitions and CrossFit Opens, including the Granite Games in Minnesota. During his campaign in CrossFit, he worked with many inspirational Coaches, one by the name of Alex Varbonov – the Bulgarian Weightlifter who holds a Bronze medal from the 1988 Olympics, numerous World and European Championships, and has earned ten official world records in his weight class.

Brandon has over ten years of coaching experience, where he has proudly worked with youth hockey teams, competitive athletes, and weekend warriors. He is the program coordinator and Head Coach at CrossFit Colosseum for the Olympic Weightlifting Program, as well as a Burgener Strength Coach teaching Olympic Weightlifting to coaches and athletes all around Canada. His latest accomplishments have landed him at Paragenix Systems by Matt Nichol, where he works with elite level athletes. Brandon’s highly versatile background allows him to deliver a technical and authentic unique coaching experience.
